Learn how to go from the X-Cross into a 180 degree turn

The X-cross is similar to the side straddle, which looks like half of a jumping jack. As you jump, your feet come apart on the first rotation and together on the next. But with the X-cross you cross one foot over the other instead of just having the feet meet in the middle. To turn you perform a side swing and then pivot. World’s best rope jumper comes to Greenpoint 2/22

Adrienn Banhegyi is one of the most decorated athletes in the history of the sport of rope jumping. Over the course of 15 years of competition she has won the World and European Championships multiple times and set two world records.

In addition, Adrienn is a Cirque du Soleil artist who has performed around the world at numerous high-profile events including the Rio Olympics and the Rio Carnival. In addition to performing, Adrienn is well-known for her jump rope conditioning classes, which are extremely popular with both professional and amateur athletes, as well as regular folks looking to get into better shape.

Adrienn looks forward to jumping with you on Wednesday, Feb 22 at 7:30pm at the Greenpoint YMCA in Brooklyn, NY.

The clinic and show are free for members of the Greenpoint Y as well as those who have visited the Greenpoint Y less than 3 times, but please check in with Punk Rope Mistress, Heather, about passing the hat to show our gratitude.
