Tim Haft | President & Founder
Tim started jumping rope in 1976 at the age of 16 and saw the Clash perform live in 1981. Those two facts explain much of what has transpired in his life since. In 2004 Tim created Punk Rope. His goal was to offer a fitness class where everyone—including the outsiders, outcasts, and oddballs—could get their sweat on, listen to some rad music, and bond over a post-class beverage. Tim holds certifications from the American Council on Exercise, Precision Nutrition, USA Track & Field, USAFIT, and Resist-A-Ball, in addition to a masters degree in Sociology. Tim is available for jump rope lessons, personal training, and helping folks safely transition to veganism.
Shana Brady | Director of Training
Shana joined the Punk Rope team in 2005. Since then she’s played a key role in designing and delivering all Punk Rope and Beastanetics workshops and classes. Shana has also worked as a personal trainer in corporate fitness centers, community centers, and private practice. She specializes in corrective exercise, especially with seniors. Shana holds a BS in exercise science and nutrition and is certified through the American Council on Exercise, American College of Sports Medicine, NASM, and Functional Movement Systems. Her personal fitness goal is to be fearless and keep jumping rope every day. Shana is available for jump rope lessons and personal training.
Heather Wagner | Punk Rope & Beastanetics Instructor
Heather is a lifelong athlete who never trusted group fitness classes until she met Beastanetics and later, Punk Rope. She’s also a rock drummer who misspent much of her youth at sweaty punk shows jumping around like a crazy person so she is very much at home in Punk Rope class. She is also an energy medicine practitioner and is fascinated by the connections between the energetic and physical bodies. If you like the Punk Rope website, T-shirts, and graphics, you can thank Heather. If you don’t, blame Tim. Heather is available for energy medicine sessions, personal training, and jump rope lessons.
Tom Egan | Photographer
Tom’s unique vision and his ability to capture the essence of wacky people jumping rope in midair is a perfect fit for the colorful shenanigans of Punk Rope. He’s documented many Punk Rope classes and events including the annual Punk Rope Games. Tom’s photography covers a range of subjects but one recurring theme is alternative culture in and around New York City. His work has been exhibited at more than 100 shows. Tom is a member of the Hob’art Cooperative Gallery in Hoboken, NJ and the Kostume Kult performance art group in New York City. Tom is available to photograph your next event.
