Tim started jumping rope in 1976 at the age of 16 and continues to jump almost daily. He especially enjoys “skipping” 5Ks. This is no big deal except that Tim has four herniated discs in his lumbar spine and an arthritic right knee with a torn meniscus. To cope with the injuries, Tim has learned how to stay light on his feet and use good jumping mechanics. Tim founded Punk Rope in 2004. Since then, in collaboration with Shana Brady, Tim has trained and certified more than 1,100 jump rope instructors and led more than 125 double unders seminars at CrossFits throughout the United States. He holds certifications from the American Council on Exercise, Precision Nutrition, USA Track & Field, TRX, ISCA, USAFIT, and Resist-A-Ball, along with a BA in history and an MA in sociology. Fun facts: Tim is vegan and a rock ‘n’ roll DJ. Tim offers private jump rope lessons at his home fitness studio and nearby outdoor fitness playground. You can reach him at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Shana Brady, director of training
Shana joined the Punk Rope team as director of training in 2005. Since then she’s played a key role in designing all Punk Rope workshops and classes. Shana holds a BS in exercise science and is certified through the American Council on Exercise, American College of Sports Medicine, the National Academy of Sport Medicine, and Functional Movement Systems. Her personal fitness goal is to be fearless and keep jumping rope every day. Shana offers personal training sessions and private jump rope lessons at her home fitness studio and nearby outdoor fitness playground. You can reach her at email@example.com.
Heather Wagner, graphic designer
Heather is a lifelong athlete who never trusted group fitness classes until she met Beastanetics. She’s also a rock drummer who misspent much of her youth at sweaty punk shows jumping around like a crazy person so she’s also very much at home in a Punk Rope class. Heather is an energy medicine practitioner and is fascinated by the connections between the energetic and physical bodies. If you like the Punk Rope website, T-shirts, and graphics, you can thank Heather. If you don’t, blame Tim. In addition to her contributions as a graphic designer and web guru, Heather teaches Punk Rope and Beastanetics. You can reach Heather at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Tom Egan, photographer
Tom’s unique vision and ability to capture the essence of wacky people jumping rope in midair is a perfect fit for the colorful shenanigans of Punk Rope. He’s documented many Punk Rope classes, workshops, and events including the Punk Rope Games. Tom’s photography covers a range of subjects but one recurring theme is alternative culture in and around New York City. His work has been exhibited at more than 100 shows. Tom is a member of the Kostume Kult performance art group in New York City. You can reach Tom at email@example.com and you can view his work here: thomaseganphotography.com.
