I've been a certified fitness professional since 2002 and became a jump rope enthusiast when I met Tim and Shana at my first Punk Rope Certification in 2007. I've held my primary fitness certification through the American Council on Exercise since 2003 and have earned a variety of other certifications such as ZUMBA, Drums Alive! & POUND®. I've incorporated jumping rope into almost every format I teach and use it with almost every client I train.

I'm an occupational therapist and adaptive clothing designer. My jump rope journey started in elementary school on the playground with double dutch. I didn't really jump again until my sister asked me to do a Spartan Race with her in 2021. I knew I needed to start training but didn’t want to run since I don't like running. So I thought I'd jump rope to build my endurance. I started with 1000 jumps every day, and gradually added on. So far, my personal best is about 13,500 jumps in an hour. My goal is to incorporate jump rope and "explosive" rope flow together, and maybe double dutch again one day.

I’m a former professional wrestler. I started my fitness journey with a jump rope. I would spend 20 minutes after a workout teaching myself to skip rope because I had terrible footwork. I would mostly blast heavy metal and punk rock music during these workout sessions. Lo and behold, I found a Punk Rope class at my local YMCA in Boston, MA and clearly, I WAS ALL IN! I signed up for classes right away and set my sights on becoming a personal trainer. I’ve been with the YMCA for 10 years (currently with the Richmond District YMCA in San Francisco) as a personal trainer focusing on strength and conditioning, functional movement, and high intensity interval training.

I’ve been a full-time piano teacher for decades and am a proud mom. My love for jumping rope began in 3rd grade with Jump Rope for Heart and I rediscovered it in exercise classes as an adult. After seeing someone doing Rope Flow at the gym, I was inspired to start classes myself and now dream of building routines that combine jumping rope and Rope Flow. A Spartan Race incident in 2022 led to a major knee injury and a 2-year break from jumping. Thanks to physical therapy, I’m ready to jump again. I also co-founded EQL Threads, an adaptive clothing line, with my sister. We’re excited to bring innovative, accessible clothing to the world.

I began my jump rope journey in August of 2020. When the pandemic started I felt very lost with fitness because my gym closed. I was able to find a boxing gym that was offering small classes and it was there that I was introduced to jump rope. I decided to start elevating my skills and in March 2022 began documenting my progress on Instagram. I love jump rope because it’s a great workout and it challenges me every day. I believe in functional training and enjoy creating well-rounded workouts for my clients that include cardio, strength training, flexibility, and fun. I want my clients to feel empowered to take control of their own fitness journey. Training is about becoming strong, healthy, and the best version of ourselves.

I originally hail from Canton, Connecticut and moved to Colorado in 2013. Having struggled with poor body image and disordered eating as a teen, finding a passion for fitness became therapeutic and led me down a path to wellness. My personal motto became: “It’s not about what your body looks like, but rather about what it can do.” I love teaching people that you don’t need a bunch of fancy equipment to get a great workout. All you need is a jump rope. Having completely transformed my mind, body, and soul through movement and intuitive eating, I am passionate about helping others do the same.

I’m a wife, mom of 3, and jump rope coach. I began my jump rope journey in July 2021 after restarting my fitness ventures post baby #2 and fell in love! Exercise was no longer something I had to push myself to do. It was no longer about punishing my body, but challenging it to be better, stronger, and faster every day! I’m a huge advocate for health at every size and it’s my mission to change the narrative for mid & plus size bodies! I want to see more people, especially women, celebrating what their bodies can do instead of focusing on what they have not yet accomplished. Fitness isn’t a look; it isn’t a size; fitness is your own optimal health and overall wellbeing. In my classes every student is welcomed with the same level of respect and pushed to succeed no matter where they are in their fitness journey.

While I’ve always been active, in 2014, at the age of 57, I started on a more focused personal fitness journey. I joined a gym, hired a trainer, and started taking care of my neglected body. Next, I completed my NASM certification and started training for a triathlon and ended up completing several. Also, during this time, I completed a jump rope certification with Buddy Lee and then came across Punk Rope. I liked the playful aspect of Punk Rope so I completed that certification as well. Since then, I’ve competed in the Punk Rope Games twice and really enjoyed the experience. Next on my fitness journey was an introduction to the sport of powerlifting. I was hooked right away and have had a fair bit of success. I’ve now competed at the state, regional, national, and world levels. While powerlifting at the gym, you will frequently find me jumping rope between sets to keep my heart rate up and my blood flowing. I carry my ropes with me in my car and gym bag so I’m always ready to break a rope out and start skipping. My goal is to focus on training others in powerlifting, general exercise, jump rope, and clean living and to make sure that they have fun in the process.

In 2020 I picked up a jump rope for the first time in many years, determined to become healthier mentally, physically and spiritually. Jump rope is my therapy. This year I plan on starting a jump rope class at a local gym with a fun pre and post work out experience. I’m in the process of completing my NASM group fitness instructor certification. I think it’s super important to have fun doing what you love! And if you can help others improve their mental and physical health in the process then that’s a huge bonus. I can’t wait to share with you my passion for fitness and health.

I started participating in jump rope challenges in 2017 while living in Perth, Australia. I could only do 3 skips at that time. I had been hit by a car while crossing the street two years prior and, although I had healed, my coordination was shot. The challenges were perfect for me since I was in a foreign country with no friends and here were people from all over the world skipping and sharing videos and photos and supporting each other. With each new challenge I noticed I was getting stronger and more coordinated. I cleaned up my diet and started gaining muscle in new places! Then after I built up my strength and stamina, I started learning tricks. Months prior to the start of the pandemic, I got certified through Punk Rope and started virtual jump rope workouts with my friends to help keep us fit and sane. Since 2020, I’ve continued virtual training. One of the highlights has been teaching a class with a group of young girls. Currently I teach a jump rope class at Downtown Desert Yoga on Fridays at 4:30pm and at 310 Fitness on Mondays at 4:30pm.

I started jump roping as a way to continue my training for the NYC Marathon after a knee injury forced me to cut my mileage. After continuing to run for a few years, I returned to jump rope as my go-to for fitness in 2018 and I love it: landing my first couple double unders made me feel like I was flying, and I told everyone I knew about my first 360. I bring a spare rope in my backpack for times I need five minutes of jumping on my lunch break to clear my head. I came across the fabulous Punk Rope community in 2021. I don’t typically do fitness coaching, but in my day job coaching teachers I know to celebrate where you’re at and to build intentionally and steadily from that point. I’m available for coaching for anyone interested in learning to jump rope who's all in for the mix of fun and frustration—but mostly fun!

I'm a drummer, energy medicine practitioner, and fitness enthusiast. I've played sports (soccer, basketball, softball) since I was a little kid and have always been fascinated by the profound ways that staying active positively affects mental outlook and general well-being. I've also had a lifelong interest in alternative, natural forms of healing and health and began studying energy medicine in 2013. I love finding crossovers among my passions and will often give drum students jump rope lessons and jump rope students some energy medicine exercises. Punk Rope is a great way to combine my love for music and drumming with my love for fitness. I enjoy working with children and adults of all experience levels and have a laid-back "meet you where you're at" approach that is relaxed and not intimidating.

I started jumping rope when COVID hit. As a working mom of three traveling athletes, I began to neglect myself and gained weight. Despite time constraints, I could never make an excuse for jumping rope since it was easy to carry and could be done anywhere. When my children were at tournaments or practice, I’d find a room or corner and begin to jump rope. Recently, I decided to become certified by Punk Rope so I can use my passion to help others. Since November 2024, I’ve been offering Zoom/remote jump rope lessons including jump rope HIIT lessons.

In 2017, I ran my last half marathon. The knee pain and plantar fasciitis was excruciating and I realized I needed a change. So, I went searching for another form of cardio that provided the same level of intensity with less wear and tear. This is when I discovered jumping rope! It was “love at first jump”! All my aches and pains from 20 plus years of running disappeared and have never returned. I also found jumping rope had similar emotional and mental benefits that I gained as a gymnast when I was younger. I was hooked and as I continued to grow my jumping skills, I knew I wanted to share this joy with others. I discovered Punk Rope in 2020 and thought it was a great next step to get certified as a coach. I work at a local elementary school and will be the school’s coach for their very first jump rope team. I’m excited to be sharing my love for jumping with the next generation and can’t wait to see my kids grow their skills and joy for jumping rope!

I have been jumping rope since April 2018. I began jumping rope during an intermittent fasting program I was following after I discovered that I needed to get healthier, lose weight, lower my triglycerides, and raise my HDL cholesterol. Intermittent fasting and exercising with a jump rope helped me drastically improve my lipid profile and lose nearly 40 pounds by the end of 2018, progress that I have been able to maintain. I deliver jump rope, health, nutrition, fitness, and self-development content through Jump Rope Veteran, my YouTube channel, that I started in December 2018. My approach is to be honest, be authentic, keep it simple, stress the basics, and to have compassion for others. Through that approach, I believe that anyone can achieve what I call “Jump Rope to Freedom.”

My first encounter with jump rope came when my mother hesitantly threw a leather rope into our shopping cart at a store when I was nine or ten. I don’t think she believed I would use it. But within a week, she, my father and I had nightly contests in our basement to see who could jump the most. Little did I know, I’d be returning to jump rope again in my 40s when I got a gym membership because I quickly discovered that I didn’t care for the subcultures in the gym. I taught myself several jump rope skills and jumped to music for many months before letting go of my gym membership. Here again in my mid 50s, I have circled back to jump rope. Except now it’s been sustained for a little over three years and I know my way around a rope far better than I did previously. In the last three years, I have coached / led jump rope circles with (1) my local Parks and Rec, (2) with college students, and (3) with coworkers at my place of employment. Everyone’s jump rope journey is one worth celebrating. It starts with one jump and if you’ve done that, you are on your way! As one looks around, they will discover just how big the jump rope landscape is and it’s easy to fall into the trap of comparison—which can really rob you of your joy. Want a good person with whom to compare yourself? Look in the mirror. Promise yourself that your skills will grow and document that growth with videos. Shape your jump rope experience to be and feel true to you. Look at your personality, your level of fitness, and a vision of your future self. Then show up. A lot.

Listen, I’ve been where you’ve been. I’ve struggled to find that perfect thing that will keep me consistent. You know you need to be active and do your body good but you’ve tried everything. Nothing sticks. You did the running, you did the yoga, you did the calisthenics. You get bored, you lose motivation and you fall off the track, again. I feel you. I was the same. Stuck in a dilemma. For me? I knew I needed to maintain an active lifestyle because it saves my mental health but I couldn’t find that one thing for me that keeps me motivated, pushing forward even on cold, hard days! Until I found jump rope. I lead with empathy and understanding for whatever your version of life looks like. You’re busy? Tired? Your schedule is all over the place? Working out? When? How? I’ve got you. Together, we find ways to make fitness fit into your life. Not the other way around. Don’t get me wrong, you’ll have to work hard and push yourself. I won’t let you off that easy, haha! But I’ve got you, I will motivate you, I will hold your hand when you think you can’t go any further. Because I know that you can. I believe in the grit and power each of us has in us. Grab the rope, let me show you!

My partner "Ishwinder" is a big part of the reason I'm pursuing my passion to new heights. Jump rope has become one of the pillars of my fitness and conditioning coaching sessions in a variety of ways. With my judo team, most commonly, I’ll combine jump rope with bodyweight exercises (a la Punk Rope) as a warmup before judo training. I also incorporate jump rope into judo-focused circuit training that also includes free weights and resistance bands. In the offseason, I propose jump rope as an alternative to running. The sessions vary widely and target different energy systems. And then again sometimes it’s just nice to just jump rope and have fun.

I was introduced to the Crossrope jump rope community in 2017 by a friend who heard I wanted something else to add to my fitness routine. Suffice it to say that I got hooked. By mid-2018, I had learned more than the basic jumps. I was teaching others in my immediate community to skip as we call it in Nigeria. Following this realization, I decided to add “jump rope coach” to my credentials. I got certified through Punk Rope and started outdoor sessions with friends. Following the lockdown, I started virtual zoom sessions with friends and some clients from different parts of the country and the world. I also included one-on-one training sessions to seniors and those who didn’t want to be in the public eye. I am also an avid walker, cyclist, fitness coach, and a retired squash player. I enjoy helping individuals meet their fitness and health goals. It doesn’t matter what level you are at, I will work with you and at your pace to get to where you want to be. Age is a number and how you feel. I’m over 50 but still going strong and take none of it for granted. I work with all age groups and levels. I have colleagues who I collaborate with to add flavor and diversity to the training sessions. We do yoga, bodyweight, cardio, and much more. We constantly create new routines to keep the sessions fun.

Hi! I'm Kristiane. As a young lady I was pretty active. I used to play basketball and was dancing on a regular basis. It all stopped in college as I started working as a bartender. I worked long hours and didn't move a lot so my weight slowly snuck up on me. In 2017 I gave birth to my second child and the baby weight from him followed me all the way to my third pregnancy. I noticed that I wasn't comfortable in my own skin. I was avoiding taking photos and I wanted to do better, not just for myself but for my children. I wanted them to see that mommy is taking care of herself and making her health a priority. I started experimenting with different types of cardio and also did weight training and it worked. The weight came off but I wasn't happy. I wasn't enjoying it. It wasn't fun for me. I came across jump rope randomly while scrolling on Instagram and it changed everything. I LOVE Jumping rope. As a busy mom, it's great to be able to take that rope with me everywhere and jump at any time. It's the best tool for a busy mom's life. I jump rope daily and it's practically the only workout I do. I use a range of different weighted ropes for the extra strength training. It's my passion and I wouldn't have it any other way. It's the best health and fitness investment I've ever made. I work as an occupational therapist and have had the opportunity to introduce this great sport to my patients. I've taught my children and their friends who are now jumping regularly. My focus is joyful movement and that it's okay to make your health a priority. It's never too late to start! My wish is to get more people to jump rope and know the many benefits and joy of jumping rope. I want children and adults to know that jump rope is for all ages and skill levels. I'm available for one on one sessions and group classes (both in-person and online).

I am an elementary school teacher in Panama, where I was a member of the national team in water polo between 2015 and 2020. As an elementary school teacher, I see firsthand the need for children to be physically activity as that also helps them to succeed academically. In my classroom I combine music and movement, including jump rope, and create routines that are fun for the children. The results have been impressive. I can see the improvement in concentration along with the benefit to their basic health. I'm available for virtual classes for kids and adults via Google meet; also available for individual and group classes for beginners and intermediates.

I love dancing, exercise and everything related to physical activity. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Physical Activity, Sport and Recreation and work as a personal trainer, fitness dance instructor, and elementary school PE teacher. And now I join this beautiful and fun world of rope jumping, which I find to be a great way to keep moving to be healthy and have fun at any age.

I’m Ana, a former ballerina and proud mother. I discovered rope jumping not long ago as a way to break free from the daily routine—and it quickly became much more than exercise. Rope jumping has given me a new way to stay active, challenge myself, and find joy in movement. With consistency and curiosity, I’ve developed skills I never imagined possible. What I love most is that every session brings something new to learn. My journey is a reminder that it’s never too late to embrace something fresh, keep moving, and keep discovering. I look forward to sharing with you the secrets of skipping with grace.

Always drawn to movement, Camilla is a blackbelt in karate, a former martial arts instructor, and now a full-fledged jump rope addict. Her love for rope started through boxing, but what started as conditioning quickly became something more. To her, it’s not just a workout — it’s a return to play, it’s joy, it’s meditation with a beat. She teaches to share that feeling, to share that movement doesn’t have to feel like punishment — it can feel like freedom. No gym needed, no gear necessary — just a rope, a rhythm, and a little room to move.

With discipline, consistency and perseverance your dreams will come true. Over four years, with daily dedication of 45 minutes to 1 hour of jumping rope combined with a balanced diet, I went from 201 pounds to my current weight of 148 pounds which is appropriate for my height. My self-esteem has improved along with my health and I always keep a smile on my face while loving life day in and day out. I’ve remained focused and consistent with my various exercise routines and view them as essential components of my life. I have learned that there are no limits to achieving what you want in life. Jumping rope is a jump from feeling good to feeling great. In addition to being a certified jump rope instructor I am a Certified XtremeBike instructor.
